    MEET INDIA
    India is a state located in South Asia. It is the seventh largest country and the second most populous in the world, after China. India has an area of ​​3,287,263 km2. The capital of India is New Delhi and the largest city of Bombay, and in 2011 India had more than 1,205 million inhabitants. Only Bombay has around 17 million inhabitants. India is divided into four major regions, the Himalayas, the northern river plains, the Deccan and the eastern and western Ghats.
    In general terms, India is a unique country in religious matters. Hinduism is the dominant religion in India (it represents more than 80%). It is the country with the largest number of Hindus, Yainins, Sikhs, Zoroastrians and Low Countries, and is the third country with the largest number of Muslims. Buddhism, the predominant religion of Southeast Asia, was born in India; It is the holy land of Hinduism, Buddhism, Yinism and Sikhism, it is the home of important spiritual gurus and several seminary organizations. Most of the eastern and northern peoples speak Indo-Aryan languages ​​such as Assamese, Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi and Bengali. The influence of contacts with Persia and the Mughal period can be seen in the language as well as in architecture, clothing and other aspects of life in the north.
    The traditional society of India is defined by a relatively strict social hierarchy. The caste system of India describes the stratification and social restrictions in the Indian subcontinent, as well as defining the social classes by thousands of hereditary inbred groups, which are often referred to as jatis or castes. The traditional values ​​of Indian families are highly respected. An overwhelming majority of Indians have their marriages arranged by their parents and by other respected members of the family, with the consent of the bride and groom.
