This film tells the
story of two siblings, the older bhrother has fourteen years and the
litter sister has around four or five years. They live in Japan, in
midst of the second world war. Their father works as a military Navy,
so he doesn’t appear throughout the film. Their mother dies at the
beginning because of bombs. When their mother dies they go to house
of their aunt, after having some problems whit his aunt, they decide
to live alone. They decide to live in a cave near the village and
next to a lake. At the first they try to obtain food selling the
clothes of thier mother, after they eat all they find ( food like
roots and frogs), at the end when the older brother realize that her
sister was dying of starvation and disease, he decide to star
stealing. It was too late and the younger sister dies, the older
brother keeps her bones after burn her and he dies of hung after a
while.
This is a very beatiful,
sad and cruel film.
